THE STORY: Marells vehicle detailing is run by Mark Farell, who is one of the finest vehicle conditioning specialists in the UK. As a fully trained vehicle mechanic, he offers a unique set of automotive services to both supercar and prestige car owners. His automotive clients include private owners of rare car collections, franchised supercar dealers and even the mainstream prestige vehicle manufacturers.

However, like many small automotive businesses, Mark’s concern was that as a one-man-band business, how could he increase his profits and protect his future. After all, there was only so much one man can do each day and thus his ability to increase revenue was restricted.

Mark approached Revive/DJM for advice as he knew we had over 40 years’ experience providing website and photographic services to the automotive sector. Our objective was to create a ground-breaking website that not only looked amazing but included HiDef imaging of his work and services. It was vital to educate potential clients about what he did and why he needs to charge a sensible price for his work.

Until now, most people and organisations looked on vehicle detailers as just car polishers! We had to break these old misconceptions and show new clients the complex stages of correct vehicle detailing and coatings.

Thus, we looked at changing his BRAND presentations and how he managed his business with a view to streamlining workflow and time management. Indeed, we completely reinvented Marells from the ground up.

The new website would include an e-commerce section that provided two main benefits to Marells. The first is that it created a second revenue stream and more important was that it provided sales support to his key detailing services through promotional ideas like the ‘Marells Voucher’ scheme and discounted support products to attract new & existing clients.

The net result has been that the last four years has seen Marells triple its revenue and double the size of their workshops despite the sensible and logical increase of 30% to their charges. The new website is at the top of the search engines for all the required search options and has attracted many new clients to Marells services due its very high-quality photography that tells a real-time story of what they can expect from Marells.

Most important is that we attend Marells regularly to take photographs of their ongoing automotive projects for inclusion in the website’s BLOG and the social media platforms we support for Mark Farell. Indeed, our photography work has become so popular with Mark’s clients that it has spread out into a new small business venture between both Marells and us. This involves a joint project where Marells prepares a client’s vehicle as we photograph each stage of the process leading up to final photo-shoot of the finished vehicle. We then produce a bespoke photo-album for the client.
